This is a topic that's been on my mind a lot lately, and it has to do with the general idea behind "no changes"

There's already a number of things that are going to be in Classic that are going to be different from Retail Vanilla, just as there were things different in Private Servers from Retail Vanilla. However, my concern is that with the decision to essentially base the entire game around 1.12 (meaning itemization, class balance, and 1.12 versions of raids) while releasing the 1.12 version of content at the proper phases is going to make for a disappointing raiding experience. Essentially, if they are deadset on keeping the exact 1.12 values of Health, Armor, Damage, Resist, etc. for the bosses, you're reducing the boss effectiveness, while giving us increased player effectiveness from being in the 1.12 version of the game. So while this works for Phase 6 (roughly 1.12 patch) , it doesn't quite work for Phase 1 (roughly 1.2 patch) in Molten Core.

Now we didn't get to do any raid testing in the Classic Beta, so noone knows how the raids are going to play out, so this is all speculation. But my concern is, that if Blizzard is so dead set on "No changes" and not altering with the 1.12 Data, you're actually going to get a less authentic-feeling Vanilla experience than you would if you adjusted some values. Is the most important thing about no changes the data tables behind that scenes that hardly anyone ever sees, or is it that the game feels like you're playing Vanilla WoW?

Now this is all speculation and I could be completely wrong about this. To be quite honest with you, I hope I am wrong and it's not nearly as big of a deal as I'm making it out to be. But again, this is something that has been on my mind a lot lately and I really wanted to share it with you guys and get your opinions on it as well. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??
